Yahoo more than doubles free email storage

Yahoo plans to more than double its free email storage limits, reports the Associated Press. As of Monday, members will receive up to 250 MB of free storage, up from the current limit of 100 MB. The move is an obvious reaction to Microsoft’s recent free storage boost for Hotmail to 250 MB and Google’s current 1 GB limit. “Besides increasing storage limits, Yahoo says it has upgraded the tools for verifying the identities of e-mailers and improved the features used to search e-mail content,” notes the report.

Sony today announced the introduction of a new Mac-compatible double layer, dual format DVD burner. The new DRX-710UL-T, which includes Toast 6 Lite, will allow users to record up to four hours of high-quality MPEG-2 video or up to 8.5 GB of data, music and/or images on compatible DVD+R DL media. The drive supports 2.4X DVD+R DL, 16X DVD+R, 8X DVD-R, 4X DVD+/-RW, 48X CD-R and 24X CD-RW recording speeds.
