Comcast CEO wooing Jobs in Disney takeover bid?

Steve Jobs, CEO of both Apple and Pixar, may be siding with Comcast CEO Brian Roberts in his company’s hostile takeover bid of Disney, according to the New York Post. Purportedly, Roberts may be wooing Jobs to his side of the brewing battle for control of Disney as Comcast execs think they’ll have an easier time convincing Disney shareholders to accept their buyout proposal if it’s likely to come with a renewed movie deal with Pixar, the article adds.

UK reseller ‘disappointed’ with Apple store

Darren King, the managing director of London-based Apple reseller Square Group, told PC Pro that he was “disappointed” but “not surprised” by Apple’s announcement of a new retail store in London. King says that his only complaint is that Apple “didn’t have the decency to talk to us first.” In the article, King goes on to talk about Apple’s retail plans in London and what it means for the company’s brand and other resellers in the area.

Shareware author Ilja Iwas today released UnCoverIt 2.0.2, the latest update to his cover creating software for Mac OS X. UnCoverIt automatically generates labels for Data, Audio, MP3, and Photo CDs and other media types. Version 2.0.2 adds AppleHelp documentation; the Audio covers now offer ‘Artist name’ and ‘Album name’ as separate properties; text elements can be linked to; and the template file for Iomega ZIP disks has been modified. UnCoverIt requires Mac OX X 10.2 or later, and is priced at US$14.99 — updates from version 1.x are $7.
