In his latest blog post, Jupiter Research analyst Michael Gartenberg aims to explain Apple’s thinking behind not releasing a video iPod. “Unlike music, it’s illegal to rip a DVD to your hard drive, Pixar or otherwise. Simple. No same company wants to get into that legal issue with the studios and provide those tools. Not Apple. Apple announces three new store openings

Following through on its plans to have 100 retail stores open by the end of the calendar year, Apple has announced the grand openings of three new Apple Stores. On Thursday, November 4, the company will open a new store at the Alderwood Mall in Lynnwood, Washington. On Saturday, November 6, the company will open news stores at the Carousel Center in Syracuse, New York, and at the Jordan Creek Town Center in West Des Moines, Iowa.

BIAS announces SoundSoap 2

BIAS today announced SoundSoap 2, the next version of its “one-click” audio cleaning software for Mac OS X.
