Following yesterday’s expansion of the iTunes Music Store, Ireland is now one of the few European countries that cannot download and purchase tracks–even though Ireland is the home of U2. Residents of the country cannot purchase the band’s new “Digital Box Set,” which was announced alongside the special edition U2 iPod yesterday. “Today we announced the opening of the EU iTunes Music Store which covers nine Countries in Europe,” Apple said in a statement. “We are not announcing any new stores beyond Canada in November at this point of time. We are committed to expanding the iTunes Music Store globally and will announce new countries as and when they come on board.”
