LaCie intros new hard drives, monitor, and more

LaCie today announced a new series of external hard drives — the d2 Serial ATA (SATA) Hard Drive that is capable of reaching transfer rates of 1.5Gbps. The drives, which will be available this winter, ship with the LaCie SATA PCI Card, a SATA PCI-HOST adapter, and power supply. Pricing is as follows: 74GB 10krpm 8MB US$449, 160GB 7200rpm 8MB $269, 250GB 7200rpm 8MB $339, and 400GB 7200rpm 8MB $549. Also announced was the new d2 Hard Drive Extreme with Triple Interface (FireWire 800, FireWire 400 and USB 2.0), offering capacities of up to 250GB and a 7200rpm 8MB buffer with larger capacities arriving this winter. Pricing has been set at $199 for the 160GB drive, $249 for the 200GB, and $279 for the 250GB model.
