Apple shares hit four-year high of $40.64

Shares of Apple (AAPL) climbed to above US$40 on Wednesday for the first time in four years. The stock rose $1.27 (3.23 percent) to close at $40.64. Apple will release its fourth quarter financial results for 2004 on Wednesday, Oct. 13, after the markets close. A conference call discussing the earnings will be streamed live via QuickTime.
