As expected, Mediafour has announced the release of MacDrive 6, the latest version of its cross-platform file sharing software enabling Macs and Windows PCs to easily exchange files. Version 6 offers Windows XP, 2000 and 2003 users: the ability to burn recordable and rewritable Mac CDs and Mac DVDs; partition Mac hard drives; support for international file names; a new way to make backups of Mac disks through Windows using a special file naming mode that causes MacDrive to output Unicode file names; global settings that can now be adjusted on a drive-by-drive basis; and more. MacDrive 6 requires Windows XP, 2000, 2003 Server, Me or 98SE and is priced at US$49.95 ($19.95 upgrade).
