MakeMusic! today announced the release of Finale NotePad 2005, the latest version of its free software to create, play back, and print out sheet music. Finale NotePad 2005 offers “a variety of powerful and timesaving features for educators, students and hobbyists” including compatibility with Finale 2005 files. Other new features include the ability to easily create and edit Guitar and Bass tablature, and “Human Playback,” a feature introduced in Finale 2004, which transforms the playback of music entered via the computer keyboard into an expressive performance, allowing arrangers and composers to hear their work as it was intended to be performed.
