Quicken 2005 is due to be in stores by mid-August and will have a price of US$69.95. The goal of the update is to help Quicken users manage their finances and help with other areas of life that support those finances, Aruna Harder, Quicken product manager, told MacMinute. It’s also the first version of Quicken built exclusively for Mac OS X. Harder said that the 2005 version of the popular accounting software lets you: set up your accounts in a fraction of the time as before; estimate your tax liability more accurately; and create a visual record of your home inventory. For example, the Express Setup feature takes the “pain” out of the set-up process, Harder said.
