Apple is in danger of “blowing an opportunity to score big with millions of tech and status symbol crazy Chinese, Alex Salkever writes in his latest “Byte of the Apple” column for BusinessWeek Online. He says that “tens of thousands” of Chinese will drop $250-$500 for luxury shavers, from Phillips, Braun, and Panasonic and $250-$800 for a handset. You can “bet an equivalent or greater number would want to buy iPods,” Salkever opines. But Apple doesn’t seem to be working very hard to take advantage of the booming tech interest in the country, he says.
