Open Door Networks is now shipping Envision 1.0, Mac OS X software that presents images from Web sites outside the windows of traditional Web browsers. Instead of requiring that Web content be manually clicked through, Envision helps users experience the “sights” of the Web through six different views: slide-show like, in a window, without text clutter; full screen, with the Mac as a “digital picture frame” around the images; in a “thumbnail” view, as a broad overview of the site; in multiple windows simultaneously; as an automatically updating desktop picture; and through the Mac’s built-in screen saver, with pan and zoom capabilities. A single license for Envision is US$39 through Aug. 15 and $49 thereafter.
