In a move that mirrors the strategic alliance of Apple and HP, Toshiba announced today that it is now shipping laptops pre-installed with Napster’s online music service. “Los Angeles-based Napster, a unit of recording software provider Roxio, said it will give a one-month free trial of its subscription music service to all new Toshiba notebook buyers,” reports AP. “The Napster service costs $9.95 a month. The companies did not disclose financial terms of the deal. The Napster service will appear as a desktop icon on all Satellite-brand notebook computers, the companies said.”
