Sony has introduced the Professional Disc for DATA (ProDATA) solution kits for back-up and storage needs. The drives pack up to 23GB of storage capacity onto a single-sided optical disc by implementing blue laser technology and advanced optics, according to Sony. With FireWire and USB 2.0 connectivity, they’re designed specifically for professional storage applications such as document and medical imaging, e-mail archival, enterprise content management, multimedia projects, graphic design and audio/video editing/authoring. Due next month, Sony ProDATA drives will start at US$2,995.
