TikiMac has launched a new Mahana series of Mac compatible hard drives with dual FireWire 800 interfaces and capacities of 320GB, 400GB and 500GB. The Mahana drives — which operate at 7200 RPM with 8MB of buffer cache — sport a single, large RAID-0 (striped) disk volume out of the box, but can also be reconfigured as two separate physical disks or further divided into any number of partitions as required by the end-user. Retail pricing starts as US$390; the drives ship with a FireWire 800 cable, FireWire 400 cable (6:9-pin) and an AC adapter.
