Battery Technology has announced the release of The iPod Battery, which comes with interchangeable cradles for the 3rd generation iPod and iPod Mini and provides up to 40 hours of music play-time or download time, regardless of the age or status of the original (internal) battery, reports iPodlounge. The US$99.95 battery (which comes with a recharger) doesn’t charge the internal iPod battery. It’s a rechargeable lithium ion battery pack that can be charged over 400 times; at 40 hours per charge, that’s 16,000 hours of run time from The iPod Battery, the folks at Battery Technology say.
