Nova Media today unveiled Mobile High Speed 3G, which it says is the first Mac OS software to support online connections using the UMTS (Universal Mobile Telephone Service) protocol. UMTS is currently available in Europe and allows significant higher upload and download rates. Mobile High Speed 3G adds support for Vodafone’s Mobile Connect Card 3G/GPRS datacard for UMTS connections in all Vodafone UMTS networks. In addition, Novatel Merlin UMTS card and Siemens U15, Motorola A385, Samsung SGH-Z100, and SGH-Z105 mobile phones are supported.
