In an article appearing on the Seattle Post-Intelligencer Web site today, Phil Kloer writes on the success of Apple’s iPod. The story contains quotes from a wide-variety of different users and industry analysts, including this quip from a Kawan Prather, a senior vice president of Sony Records: “Oh, it’s so addictive — it’s my new crack.” Seth Godin, author of several best-selling books on marketing says, “It’s unusual for a product like this to cross all the gender and age lines right away, but iPod is doing both. It’s like the whole culture was ready for this — we were ready to change the way we listen to music.”
