Inside Mac Games today announced a new subscription service called The MacGames DVD. Delivered eight times a year, the DVD will be featuring the best in Macintosh game demos, shareware, updates, add-ons, trailers, cheaters, and more. Inside Mac Games’ popular MacGames CD subscription service, first introduced in 1995, will be phased out over the coming year. “It became clear that we needed to switch to DVD when there were 300MB to 500MB demos coming out and we couldn’t fit any them on the CD-ROM version,” said Inside Mac Games Publisher Tuncer Deniz. “The DVD version will allow us to include all the latest demos, hundreds of shareware games, dozens of game updates, and for the first time, dozens of QuickTime movies and trailers, hundreds of maps and mods for today’s popular Mac games and much more.”
