The Babel Company has released Impression 2.1, the latest version of its backup software for Mac OS X. The company says version 2.1 is a substantial update. The burn engine has been rewritten and now offers operator-selectable burn drive choices as well as the ability to save disk images for later burning. In addition, the speed of backup operations have been increased, the sizing/estimation routines are more accurate, and several bugs have been fixed. Impression requires Mac OS X 10.2 or higher and is priced at US$25. In commemoration of Impression’s first birthday, an interesting $10 discount promotion is also available, as is a demo version.
