EarthDesk 2.5 is the latest version of the popular dynamic desktop map application. EarthDesk replaces your static desktop picture with an animated, real-time rendered image of the Earth, which continuously updates in the background. The US$19.95 software supports eleven different map projections, political and satellite views, and renders accurate sun, moon and city lighting. Version 2.5 adds full map centering and zoom support for all map projections (in previous versions, many projections were locked to the equator). Additionally, when running on a system with multiple displays, the map update frequency may now be specified for each display individually.
