The Babel Company has released Impression 2.0, the latest version of its backup software for Mac OS X. Version 2.0 offers the most substantial update thus far, according to the developer. The UI has been completely redesigned, scratch space can now be selected for disks other than the startup drive, individual files can be added to the backup list, Unicode file name parsing has been greatly improved and several bugs have fixed. This version also offers the introduction of a new bookmark-based backup management feature and full compatibility with Mac OS X 10.3’s FileVault feature. Impression costs US$25 to register.
