Banc of America Securities initiates Apple coverage

Banc of America Securities has initiated coverage of Apple at “neutral,” saying it is concerned that Power Mac G5 refresh sales will slow, iTunes won’t contribute to the bottom line, and iPod is not “the only game in town anymore.” The research firm said Apple “runs the risk of generating significant refresh sales to its installed base for the next couple of quarters, and then running out of steam once sales to the installed base are satisfied.”

Inventive today announced the release of iScooper 1.5 for Mac OS X, an automatic media downloading application that enables users to “download and browse batches of photos much faster and much more conveniently than they can with conventional Web browsers,” says the company. New features in version 1.5 include integration with Safari, automation via AppleScript, and browsing local media. iScooper is priced at US$19.95.

PublicSpace.net has announced the release of A Better Finder Rename 6.0, a major update to its contextual menu plug-in that allows users to quickly rename multiple files. The company says it is the most significant update since the product was released in 1997, and has been completely reworked for Mac OS X. A Better Finder Rename 6.0 is US$19.95 shareware.
