Palm CEO says handheld market recovering

Palm said today that the market for its handheld devices and software was close to moving back into growth after more than a year of declining sales. “We’re already in positive territory for PalmSource,” Palm Chief Executive Eric Benhamou told Reuters. PalmSource is Palm’s operating system software unit, due to be spun off and made independent later this year. Palm’s hardware stands to benefit from increasing capital investments in technology, Benhamou said.

The beta adds XML export, which allows users to present outlines in many new formats through XSLT, a language for transforming XML documents into other types of documents.
