Stupendous Software today announced the release of two new iMovie plug-in packs, containing a total of 58 effects, 9 of which are available for free in the demo versions of the plugins. This release brings the total number of iMovie effects available from Stupendous Software to 254, including 43 free effects. The new plug-in packs include Labels & Overlays (36 effects, 6 free) and Time Effects 2 (13 effects, 3 free). The iMovie effects are priced at US$25 each, and require iMovie 2.1.1.

Virtix releases AfterEffects plugins

Virtix today announced the release of Virtix Effects for Final Cut Pro and AfterEffects, an update to the Virtix Effects for Final Cut Pro package, which was not previously AfterEffects-compatible. Virtix Effects are compatible with AfterEffects 4.1 and higher and Final Cut Pro 1.2.5 and higher, on both Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X. The package contains 30 special effects including: Blur Edges, Bubble, Crosseyed, Edge Detector, Emboss, Extreme Black and White, and many, many more.
