Nikon today introduced three new 3x Optical Zoom-Nikkor digital cameras — the Coolpix 2100, Coolpix 3100 and the Coolpix SQ. The Coolpix 2100 and Coolpix 3100 share the smallest Coolpix body design, fast operation and are the first with Nikon’s new Scene Assist function to guide users toward the ideal shot and make picture-taking faster and easier for beginning digital photographers.

The folks at WapMac have announced a new service which allows .Mac subscribers to check their Mac.com email accounts using a data capable mobile phone. The service connects to the users mailboxes using IMAP functionality to keep their message status in sync with their primary mail application of choice. The free service includes the ability to browse and read messages, while an enhanced offering is available for a one time contribution of US$15.

DeckLink 2 released by Blackmagic Design

Blackmagic Design today announced the immediate availability of DeckLink 2, a new version of the company’s DeckLink uncompressed 10 bit video board with real time effects. DeckLink is designed specifically for connecting to digital broadcast tape decks and independent audio and video monitoring, and is priced at US$995. The company will also give away a free DeckLink 2 card at the Motion Graphics Los Angles user group meeting today.

Liquid Ledger 1.1 adds Quicken data migration, more

Modeless Software has announced the availability of Liquid Ledger 1.1, an update to its Cocoa-based, personal finance solution for Mac OS X. This release offers a functional new interface for importing financial data and now offers Quicken users the ability to migrate their financial history into Liquid Ledger. It also introduces support for the Open Financial Exchange specification, enabling users to import financial activity from a wide range of financial institutions. Liquid Ledger is priced at US$45 and is a free upgrade for existing customers.
