Voice Box now reads news from the Web

Realmac Software recently announced the release of Voice Box 1.3, its popular cocoa shareware speech application. One of the major new features in this release is the ability to download news directly into Voice Box using XML/RSS feeds and have the software read the news to you, or save it as a sound file ready to transfer to your iPod. Version 1.3 also provides numerous bug fixes and other enhancements. Voice Box costs US$10 and requires Mac OS X 10.2 or greater.

The Apple Developer Connection’s (ADC) Internet Developer site has published a new technical article titled “JavaScript in Mac Browsers.” This informative article tests and compares how Safari, iCab, Internet Explorer, Mozilla, OmniWeb, and Opera handle pop-ups, DHTML, and other common JavaScript tasks. In addition, last week saw the publication of “Web Services with WebObjects” on the Internet Developer site.
