Ranchero releases Huevos 1.1

Ranchero Software today released Huevos 1.1, the latest version of its open source Mac OS X application that allows you to easily search several different search engines from your desktop. It comes with 15 search engines built in, and you can add more. The main change since 1.0 is that you don’t have to use the mouse at all — you can bring Huevos to the front via a hotkey, and you can set command keys for your search engines. The up and down arrow keys also navigate through the search engines popup menu.

Apple CFO says goal is to raise marketshare

Speaking at the Goldman Sachs Technology Symposium, Apple Chief Financial Officer Fred Anderson said the company’s aim is to expand its share of the computer market, and that a “good intermediate” goal would be to reach 5% marketshare from 3% today, reports Dow Jones. Anderson also said the company’s target is to get to US$8 billion of annual revenue, and that Mac users are also “going to see more and more software coming out of Apple.”
