Desktop pictures/icons weekly recap
Over the course of the past week, MacDesktops has posted 14 new desktop pictures, including: Apple-Aqua-Splat (Logos, Apple), Marilyn Monroe (Portraits), and Bummer (Apple – Switchers). Mandolux has issued three new desktops this week: one Vector-based (Christy/Survivor/Techno), a Technosis/Anthraxis (Abstract), and one new DAIM Graffiti-based desktop.

Northern Softworks today announced the release of Lights Out 2.1, the latest release of the company’s Energy Saver utility for Mac OS X 10.2 (Jaguar). Lights Out serves as an Energy Saver enhancement, putting your Mac to sleep even if Energy Saver fails to do so. Version 2.1 offers improved performance and a few minor bug fixes. Lights Out is US$7.95 shareware.

Casady & Greene has announced the release of Clone’X, a tool that allows users to Clone, Restore and Copy their system to one or multiple computers. Clone’X, originally developed by TED in France, was the first System duplication and restore tool for Mac OS X, according to the press release. Clone’X supports Mac OS 10.x, as well as Mac OS 8.6-9.x. Clone’X is priced at US$49.95 as an electronic download from the C&G Web site.
