WireFusion Web presentation tool comes to OS X

Demicron today introduced a Mac OS X version of WireFusion, its authoring tool for interactive Web presentations. WireFusion 3.2 (US$399), which uses the latest Java Virtual Machine (1.4.1), can be extended with several different WireFusion add-ons including: real-time Web3D capabilities (WF-3D), interactive zoom (WF-Zoom) and slide show (WF-SlideShow) Web presentations, and streaming Web video (WF-Video) and audio (WF-MP3).

LightWorks update brings Altivec optimization

LightWork Design has announced the release of an Altivec-optimized update for LightWorks 7.0, giving customers a “significant boost” in performance. The Altivec optimization, built on the new software architecture introduced in LightWorks 7.0, gives users a performance increase of up to 1.5 times for typical scenes containing soft shadows, ray tracing and procedural shaders, according to the company.

Apple Q2 earnings due today

Apple will announce its second quarter financial results after the markets close this afternoon. Analysts polled by Thomson First Call are looking for a profit of 2 cents a share on revenue of $1.46 billion. As we noted on Monday, a conference call discussing the earnings will take place at 5:00 PM ET and will be webcast. MacMinute will post the second quarter results and highlights from the call.
