Apple launches 2nd iPod-a-Day Giveaway

Apple has kicked off the second round of its “iPod-a-Day Giveaway” promotion. “From November 28 to December 24, we’ll be giving away a 10GB iPod every day,” says Apple. “Download iTunes and create a new iTunes Music Store account, and you’ll be automatically entered into our daily drawing. Once you create an account, your name remains eligible until December 24, so the earlier you sign up, the more chances you have to win.” The original iPod-a-Day Giveaway ended on September 20.

New York Times Magazine on the iPod

Rob Walker of the New York Times Magazine has written an extensive article on the iPod. The six-page report covers every aspect of Apple’s digital music player, and includes several quotes from Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO, and Jonathan Ive, Apple’s vice president of industrial design. One amusing part of the article is when Walker asks Jobs if he thinks consciously about innovation. “No,” Jobs replied. “We consciously think about making great products. We don’t think, ‘Let’s be innovative! Let’s take a class!
