WSJ’s Mossberg reviews new iPods, criticizes battery life

In his latest column for the Wall Street Journal, Walt Mossberg gives the new third generation iPods an overall positive review, but says that they do have one big drawback — battery life: “To reduce the size of the unit, Apple had to cut the size of the battery. So, the battery life of the new iPods, while still respectable, is significantly lower than it was on the original version. The old models claimed 10 hours of battery life, but mine got 12 hours.

Mac Business Solutions hosting audio event

In response to the Apple Store’s “Live on Stage” event tomorrow, Maryland’s Mac Business Solutions will be having an audio event this Friday and Saturday. The event will feature Apple’s new iPods, iTunes 4, MadPlayer, Reason, Ableton Live, and more. They will also have presentations on getting your favorite music into iTunes and onto your iPod, digitizing your old analog cassettes and vinyl, and some basics on getting started in Mac OS X.
