Avid announces ‘Experience Avid|DNA’ tour

Apple Store security hole plugged

Apple last week fixed a security hole in its online Apple Store that would potentially allow a hacker to change a customers password and make fraudulent orders, reports Wired. “Apple representatives said the company corrected the problem Friday, but declined to provide details of the fix. Spokesman Bill Evans said Apple does not believe any customers were affected by the vulnerability,” notes the story.

iTunes Music Store sells over one million songs in first week

Apple today announced that its new iTunes Music Store sold over one million songs during its first week. According to the company, over half of the songs were purchased as albums and more than half of the 200,000 songs offered on the store were purchased at least once. In addition, Apple said that over one million copies of iTunes 4 have been downloaded, and that it has received orders for over 110,000 new third-generation iPods, with customers grabing more than 20,000 of them from Apple Stores this past weekend.
