Apple’s PowerSchool receives Codie Award

The Software & Information Industry Association’s (SIIA) 18th Annual Codie Awards were presented last night at a gala event in San Francisco. More than 330 companies nominated over 650 products for the awards. Some of the winners include Apple’s PowerSchool for Best K-16 Education Administration Solution, FileMaker Pro 6 Unlimited for Best Numeric/Database Application, Macromedia Flash MX for Best Business Productivity Product or Service, and Symantec Corporation nabbed the Corporate Achievement Award.

Virtix releases iBubble for iMovie

Virtix today announced the availability of iBubble for iMovie, a collection of 13 titles for Apple’s movie editing software. iBubble contains “Thought Bubbles” and “Speech Bubbles,” which are cartoon-like images that allow users to make it look like a person is speaking certain words or is thinking certain thoughts. The software also contains “Labels with Arrows,” so users can place the labels and direct the arrows to certain objects in the movie, and “Plain Text,” titles, which can be placed anywhere on the screen.
