WindowShade X adds ‘Minimize-In-Place’ feature

Unsanity has posted a public preview release of WindowShade X 3.0, the upcoming version of its haxie that lets you assign actions to the minimize button and a double-click on the window title in Mac OS X. This version adds Minimize-In-Place functionality, allowing you to minimize windows “in place” to much smaller images representing windows. This preview release will expire on September 1, 2003.

ThemePark lets you customize look of OS X

Geekspiff today released ThemePark 1.0, new software that lets you create or modify the way Mac OS X looks, as well as to change the appearance of individual applications. “Just draw titlebars, buttons, and other widgets in the graphics editor of your choice, and paste them into ThemePark to create a new theme or modify an existing one,” notes the developer. The software allows you to export your themes in ‘dlta’ or ‘xscheme’ format to share. ThemePark is US$20 shareware.

Apple director to give Final Cut Pro 4 presentations

Kirk Paulson, Apple’s director of sales for professional applications, will be presenting three free Final Cut Pro 4 seminars in Southern California on June 24 and 25. He will be demonstrating some of the more than 300 new features of the award winning application including real time compositing and effects. The first seminar will take place Tuesday, June 24 from 7-10:00 PM PT at Emerson Academy, 2625 Josie Avenue in Long Beach, CA.

A recent Rolling Stone article brings up an interesting point on kids purchasing music at Apple’s iTunes Music Store: “One key concern among labels is figuring out how to let kids who don’t have credit cards buy music. ‘You look at Apple’s most downloaded tracks, and it’s U2, Coldplay and Sheryl Crow,’ says Dan Gill of Vagrant Records, Dashboard Confessional’s home.
