Salling Software today announced the availability of Salling Clicker 2.0, a major update to its award-winning software that lets users remotely control Mac applications from a handheld device over Bluetooth. Some of the changes in version 2.0 include: support for palmOne Tungsten T handhelds and Sony Ericsson T616; activity awareness technology, including proximity sensing (on phones only); upgraded functionality with iTunes, Keynote, PowerPoint, and DVD Player; all-new functionality with iPhoto; and more.

SmileOnMyMac has released Disclabel 1.1, a utility that helps you create labels for your CDs, DVDs and related materials. The software lets you use a pre-designed template or make your own; import track lists from iTunes, iPhoto, and iDVD; import images directly from iPhoto albums; and print to a wide array of label and paper types. Version 1.1 offers many new label types (including business card CDs and VHS tapes), enhanced text editing, and additional online help. Disclabel sells for US$29.95 and requires Mac OS X 10.2 (Jaguar) or later.

Sonnet offers 700MHz G4 upgrade for beige G3s

Sonnet Technologies today announced the new Encore/ZIF G4 700MHz processor upgrade for Power Mac models with “ZIF” (Zero Insertion Force) processor sockets. The US$349.95 upgrade utilizes the 745X series of Motorola G4 chips and has 256K L2 and 1MB L3 cache. It is compatible with beige G3 Power Macs and is expected to ship later this month. A 1.0GHz Encore/ZIF G4 upgrade ($499.95) was announced earlier this year for the same models.
