elego Software Solutions GmbH is pleased to announce the first public
release of Zync.

Zync is a Zope Product that allows export of objects from the Zope DB to a
traditional file system and vice versa, including conversion of all
attributes and meta data.

Zync is well-suited to use an external version control system together with
Zope, and to implement staging concepts using multiple Zope servers.

Macromedia announces MAX 2003 Conference

Macromedia today announced the debut of its MAX Conference, which combines the best of the company’s popular DevCon and UCON events. The event takes place in Salt Lake City, Utah, from November 18-21, and is intended to help developers and designers improve their skills, learn about new Macromedia products (including the MX 2004 product line), and network with their peers. Macromedia also notes that attendees who register by September 26 will save US$200 off the registration fee of $1095.

Dell readies new hard drive-based MP3 player

Dell plans to announce a 15GB hard drive-based MP3 player, dubbed the “Digital Jukebox,” next Thursday, according to IDG. “Apple Computer has received a great deal of critical and commercial praise for its iPod MP3 players, now available for Macintosh and Windows systems,” writes IDG’s Tom Krazit.
