Apple has posted a QuickTime movie of Steve Jobs’ “Music Event” presentation yesterday at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, notes MacMinute reader Roland Young. “The best keeps getting better,” says Apple. “Tune-in to see Apple CEO Steve Jobs present announcements from the Moscone Center in San Francisco that will make this year’s biggest music story get even bigger.” You will obviously need QuickTime 6 to view the presentation.

Two new Apple Stores opening next week

Apple will be opening two new retail stores on Friday, October 24, at 8:00 p.m. The stores are located at the University Towne Centre in San Diego, California, and the Legacy Village retail complex in Lyndhurst, Ohio. Both stores will have their grand openings on the same day that Apple Stores nationwide plan to host the “Night of the Panther” special event for the release of Mac OS X 10.3 Panther.

Apple VP: iPod makes money, not iTunes Store

Apple said it doesn’t expect to make great profits from selling songs on its iTunes Music Store. Instead, the company is counting on the store to boost sales of the iPod, which has much higher margins. “The iPod makes money. The iTunes Music Store doesn’t,” Apple Senior Vice President Phil Schiller told CNET News.com after the launch of the Windows version today.
