MacReporter update brings ‘Panther’ compatibility

Inferiis has released MacReporter 1.1.5, the latest version of its Mac OS X dockling for tracking headlines from hundreds of Web sites. Version 1.1.5 offers compatibility with Mac OS X 10.3 “Panther,” and various bug fixes and enhancements, all of which are documented here. The developer also noted that MacReporter is now a real application (Dock Extras are not supported by Apple anymore) but retains its menu-based user interface. MacReporter is US$15 shareware.

Apple has issued a press release reminding users that Mac OS X version 10.3 “Panther,” the next major release of the Mac operating system, will go on sale tomorrow night at 8:00 p.m. at participating Apple Authorized Resellers and Apple retail stores throughout the U.S. and other countries around the world. All 65 Apple retail stores in the U.S.

Flash-based Desktop creation tool for OS X released

ScreenTime Media today announced the release of the extension of its Flash Desktop creation tool for the Macintosh platform with the new SWF Desktop for Mac OS X. SWF Desktop for Macintosh enables designers to create computer wallpaper that can deliver branded, updateable content, images, animations, news, calendars, links, web applications and games directly to users’ desktops.
