Apple releases final version of iChat AV for Jaguar

Apple has quietly released the final version of iChat AV for Mac OS X Jaguar (10.2.5 or later). The software, which has been in beta version since it was announced in June, is now available from Apple for US$29.95. (iChat AV ships free with Mac OS X 10.3 Panther.) In addition to text instant messaging, iChat AV offers robust video and audio conferencing capabilities.

Apple posts ‘Federal Smart Card Package’ details

Apple has published a document detailing the “Apple Federal Smart Card Package” (FSCP), new software that lets users gain access to a Mac using a Department of Defense Common Access Card. It is widely known that Mac OS X 10.3 Panther includes seals for the U.S. Army, Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard, Department of Defense, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and U.S. Public Health Service.
