NetNewsWire gets widescreen view, favicons, more

Ranchero Software has released NetNewsWire 1.0.7b7, an update to its popular RSS news reader and Weblog editor. The new version offers a new widescreen view, Web site favicons in the Subscriptions pane, and support for the feed URL scheme (“When a Web site uses a URL that start with ‘feed:’, then, when you click it, the URL is passed to NetNewsWire, and NetNewsWire then subscribes to the specified URL. No copy-and-paste, just click a link to subscribe.”) The update also fixes some minor bugs.

Apple releases iTunes 4.2

Apple has released iTunes 4.2, the latest version of its popular digital music application. Version 4.2 includes the ability to sign in and buy music from the iTunes Music Store using either an AOL or Apple Account, view the iTunes Music Store in a separate window, and offers a number of performance improvements.
