Apple.com traffic surges in wake of iTunes for Windows

NetRatings has issued a report stating that traffic to Apple’s Web site surged during the week ending October 19th, as users flocked in to download the recently released iTunes for Windows software. “Traffic from work to the Apple Product Info & Support channel, which provides access to download the iTunes application, surged 112 percent to more than one million unique visitors, as compared to 479,000 unique visitors during the previous week,” the report notes.

Watchster is a news compilation site that searches the Web four times per hour for the latest news, and presents the headlines in an easy-to-read and fully customizable listing. Sites that are not of interest to the reader can be disabled, and coverage dates can be selected from popup menus at the top of the page so each user can customize the site exactly to their liking.

MacSpeech releases Panther update for iListen

MacSpeech today announced the availability of iListen 1.6.3, the latest release of the company’s speech recognition software for Mac OS X. Version 1.6.3 provides Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther) compatibility and several other improvements that provide a more consistent user experience when issuing voice commands. The company notes that all iListen registered users who intend to install Panther on their computers will need to install this update before they can use iListen with the new version of Mac OS X.
