Apple has launched a .Mac & Contribute promotion that offers a one-year .Mac subscription and a full version of Macromedia Contribute 2.0 for US$149 ($249 retail value). The bundle must be purchased between October 22, 2003 and January 31, 2004 from the online Apple Store or from the Apple Store by phone. MacMinute reported earlier this month that Apple was offering .Mac members a $20 discount on Contribute.

Mossberg weighs in on iPod clones

Popular technology columnist Walt Mossberg has written an interesting article today about the overwhelming success of Apple’s iPod, and how some recently released “clones” stack up against the most popular portable music player on the market.
