G3/OS X settlement gets preliminary approval

A Los Angeles Superior Court judge has given preliminary approval to the settlement that would allow some Mac OS X owners to get a refund for the operating system. In August, Apple reached a tentative agreement to settle the class action lawsuit that claimed the company had failed to fully support Mac OS X on some G3-based Macs. The settlement calls for Apple to refund the cost of Mac OS X (up to US$129) to users who turn in their CDs.

XtremeMac plans to release a Bluetooth iPod accessory early next year that will “stream music from the player — or any music source — to portable speakers, headphones, a home stereo or even a car,” according to ExtremeTech. “The technology and the circuit boards are provided by a company called Infinite Range. They’ve spent the past few years taking Bluetooth wireless and applying it to music.
