Apple releases DVD Studio Pro update

Apple has released DVD Studio Pro 2.0.3, an updated version of its professional DVD authoring software. The update adds support for Cropped D-1 and 1/2 D-1 MPEG-2 video resolutions in addition to a number of enhancements and improved overall stability. The new version also “changes the behavior of the dual-layer break point to force a pause during playback of DVD-9 projects while the DVD player switches to the second layer.

Apple updates Final Cut Pro, LiveType

Apple has also released Final Cut Pro 4.1.1 and LiveType 1.1.1 via the Software Update preference pane. According to the release notes, FCP 4.1.1 addresses issues that may be encountered with the editing software if you are using the Simplified Chinese Input Method. LiveType 1.1.1 addresses compatibility issues with third-party LiveFonts, textures, and objects. Apple says the update includes all previous maintenance releases and is strongly recommended for all FCP 4 users with earlier versions of LiveType.

Apple releases Xcode 1.1

Apple has released Xcode 1.1, an update to its set of powerful developer tools for Mac OS X. Version 1.1 provides overall stability and performance enhancements to Xcode IDE, as well as improvements to debugging, workflow, the Xcode build system and CodeSense. Apple recommends that all Xcode users install this update. Xcode 1.1 is available via the Software Update preference pane.
