Desktop pictures/icons weekly recap

Over the course of the past week, MacDesktops has posted 14 new desktop pictures, including: Metal G4 (Logos, Apple), Orange Sunrise (Sky), and Victoria (Portraits). Mandolux has issued eight new desktops this week: two Soccer (Chelsea vs Fulham), two Steevil (Abstract), and four Technosis/Anthraxis (Abstract).. MacMonkies have added four new icon sets and seven new desktops to their collection.

iSight holder for iBooks/PowerBooks announced

MacMice today announced its new iFlex flexible mount for using Apple’s iSight webcam with any model of FireWire equipped PowerBook or iBook. The iFlex is an 18-inch long flexible metal tubing housing with a shielded 6-conductor FireWire cable inside. One end is plugged into the FireWire port on the laptop, and the other end is plugged into the FireWire port under an iSight webcam. iFlex will begin shipping January 8, 2004 for US$19.99.

CBS MarketWatch names Jobs 2003 ‘winner’

In its “Winners and Losers of 2003” list, CBS MarketWatch calls Apple CEO Steve Jobs a definite winner. “At a time when legit music downloads were catching on about as quickly as, well, Apple computers, Jobs came along and did it right with iTunes,” writes Shawn Langlois. “Still, the most successful online music-seller isn’t profitable, but its intent has always been to drive sales of iPod music players.
