UK radio station to give away 50 iPods

MacMinute reader Lee Noble let us know that XFM, a UK-based radio station, is giving away ten iPods per day for five days starting next week on Christian O’Connell’s Breakfast Show. From Monday, November 17 through Friday, November 21 between 7:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. GMT, Christian will play 3 tracks featured on an imaginary celebrity’s iPod. Listeners will be challenged to guess which celebrity the iPod belongs to. The host will pick a winner who will then be responsible for picking another five winners.

Painter’s Picker 1.0 extends color picker panel

Old Jewel Software today announced the release of Painter’s Picker 1.0, its new extension to Mac OS X’s color picker panel. The utility adds the ability to choose related colors (such as complementary colors, analogous colors, etc.) directly within the color picker. It also adds more precise controls for choosing saturation, hue angle, and brightness, and provides the ability to choose colors in the CMYK color space while using HSB-style controls. Painter’s Picker 1.0 is US$13.85, shareware.

Your Mac Life show live at The Apple Store

Griffin Technology has announced that Your Mac Life, an Internet-based Mac radio show hosted by Shawn King, will be broadcasting live from the Apple Retail Store in the Lennox Square Mall in Atlanta, Georgia on December 1, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. ET. The company says this is the first in a series of live shows to be presented in Apple retail stores across the United States.
