HighDesign 1.1 is Panther ready

Ilexsoft has released HighDesign 1.1, an update to the company’s professional CAD and illustration program for Mac OS X and Mac OS 8-9. Version 1.1 offers several new tools and enhancements, such as a new Edit toolbar, a Print Area tool and Quartz support, designed specifically to meet users’ requests and make the application faster and easier to use. In addition, this release delivers support for Mac OS 10.3 (Panther). HighDesign is available in a Standard version for US$149.95 and Professional version for $349.95.

Microsoft plans MSN online music service

Microsoft plans to introduce a music download service next year that will compete with iTunes, Napster and others, Monday’s Wall Street Journal reported. A spokeswoman for the software giant confirmed that Microsoft’s MSN Web site will offer such a service in 2004, but declined to provide further details. The LA Times reported in June that Microsoft had already shown its music store to executives at several record companies.
