Apple’s Chicago retail store on North Michigan Avenue is the company’s highest-trafficked store worldwide, averaging 30,000 visitors per week, says Ron Johnson, Apple’s senior VP of retail. He also notes that Apple is “selling one iPod every 10 minutes,” and that Apple has “17,000 applicants for 1,000 retail positions.” Johnson says, “It’s harder to get a job at an Apple Store than it is to get admitted to Stanford University.”
