Dave Russell, director of product marketing for portables and wireless at Apple, talked to Wired recently about the possibility of a PowerBook G5. “We certainly want to do that,” he said. “But it’s going to be a while. We think the G4 has a very long life in the PowerBook.” In his “Byte of the Apple” column on BusinessWeek today, however, Alex Salkever looks at the issues surrounding the creation of a G5-based PowerBook, some of which are being resolved, and speculates that we may see one sometime in 2004.
