At this week’s Ceatec Japan 2003 exhibition, three companies — Pioneer, Philips and Mitsubishi — are demonstrating dual-layer versions of both DVD-R and DVD+R discs that can hold up to 8.5GB of data, almost double the capacity of today’s standard 4.7GB blank DVD discs, reports InfoWorld.
